The purpose of this job is to perform maintenance and repair duties in unified government buildings. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installing, maintaining, & repairing locks and lock hardware, performing carpentry tasks, painting, repairs, supervising inmate crew, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualified applicants must possess:
- A vocational or technical diploma;
- Three years of construction experience;
- Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position; and
- A valid driver’s license.
- A valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License or be able to obtain one within six months of the date of hire:
- Criminal background that indicates eligibility for the supervision of inmates.
- Security training for the supervision of inmate workers as set forth by the Georgia Department of Corrections Standard Operating Procedures within six months of date of hire or first available opportunity.
This position is covered under the personnel system and is considered a merit-system position.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch break.
