Human Resources Generalist/Wellness Coordinator

The purpose of this job is to coordinate the Athens-Clarke County wellness program. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervision of fitness center assigned staff, coordination of fitness center activities, monitoring/maintaining financial records, assisting with tracking and orchestrating continuous development of the wellness program, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualified candidates should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
¨ Knowledge of management and recreational practices, policies, and procedures;
¨ Knowledge of various fitness center equipment;
¨ Ability to effectively communicate and interact with fitness center staff and participants;
¨ Ability to use independent judgement and discretion including the handling of emergency situations, determining and deciding upon procedures to be implemented, setting priorities, maintaining standards, and resolving problems; and an
¨ Ability to maintain certification in CPR and First Aid.
Bachelor’s degree in health promotions, exercise physiology or related discipline with two years of experience in the operation of a fitness center or related experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. Supervisory experience is preferred. Must possess current CPR and First Aid Certification or be able to obtain Certification within 6 months of the date of hire.
