The purpose of this job is safeguarding children crossing at intersections in school zones and directing traffic as necessary.This is a seasonal, part-time position with no benefits.
Qualified applicants must possess:
- Clean criminal history. (Please submit a completed and notarized Criminal History Release form included with the Employment Application. Notary service is avail);
- Position requires working in inclement weather when necessary.
Knowledge of basic safety rules and experience working with children is preferred. See job description for further details.
WORK SCHEDULE: Varies, Monday through Friday (averaging 10 hours per week) from 7:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m., and 2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
WORK LOCATIONS: Oglethorpe Elementary, Barrow Elementary, Fowler Drive Elementary, Barnett Shoals Elementary or other Athens east side location
This position is a non-merit system position (at-will) and serves at the discretion of the Chief of Police. This is a safety sensitive position and is included in random drug testing as referred to in the Athens-Clarke County Drug and Alcohol Ordinance.
