The purpose of this job is to perform mechanical/specialty work functions associated with the maintenance and repair of water treatment plant systems, electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: repairing and maintaining pumps, gauges, clear wells and motors; performing preventive maintenance activities; maintaining records; and performing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualified applicants must possess:
1. High school diploma or equivalent and/or Vocational/Technical school training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanics or related field;
2. One year of experience involving water systems maintenance, pump maintenance, or other mechanical operations/maintenance;
3. Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position; and
4. A valid driver's license.
This is a safety sensitive position; therefore, it will be included in random drug testing as referred to in the Athens-Clarke County Drug and Alcohol Ordinance. This position is covered under the personnel system and is considered a merit system position.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Some overtime and some weekend work required. Subject to be called in to work.
